Brian began playing
the mandolin in 2000, although in fact he was born into a bluegrass
band in his home state of Virginia, and has been enjoying the
music ever since.
In 2003 Brian took 2nd place on mandolin at the Old Time Fiddler's
Convention in Galax VA. Following that he decided to study 'Music
of the Southern Appalachians' at The College of William and
Mary. He has also done additional study with Mike Seeger and
Peter Frostic.
His musical experience encompasses a wide variety of genres
from Old Time and bluegrass to Celtic, Brazilian choro and a
new genre best described as acoustic progressive metal. He has
produced two albums which include original compositions as well
as traditional favourites.
